SPOT Google Business Profile
Daily Google Business Profile management, run like a live channel instead of a listing.
For a local service business, your Google Business Profile is the most important page on the internet. More important than your website. It is what decides whether you show up in the map pack when somebody searches with intent to hire. Most agencies set a profile up once and walk away. I run yours daily. Posts, photos, questions, review responses, and a service area defined the way you actually work.
WHY THIS MATTERS
GBP is the foundation . Everything else is decoration.
When somebody searches for what you do near where they are, Google shows a map and three businesses. That is the map pack, and for most local service searches it takes the majority of the clicks before anybody scrolls to a regular result.
Your Google Business Profile is the primary thing Google uses to decide who those three are. Categories, service areas, hours, description, photo recency, review velocity, question and answer activity, and how fast you respond to all of it.
Most service businesses have a profile that was set up once, given three photos, and abandoned. No recent activity. Reviews ignored. Questions unanswered. A service area set to one zip code when they actually work across three counties. That is why the competitor with a worse website is showing up above you.
A dead profile is why your competitor with the worse website outranks you.
HOW IT WORKS
Daily work that actually moves the needle .
01
Audit or build it right
If you do not have a profile, we set it up correctly the first time. If you do, we audit everything. Categories, service areas, hours, attributes, description, photos. Most profiles I audit have at least three things wrong that are actively suppressing the ranking.
02
Service area defined like an operator
Service businesses cover real geography. We define the service area to match how you actually work, whether that is a metro, a county, or a two hour radius. Not a single zip code. Not just your office address. The area you genuinely serve and want more work in.
03
Real photos, posted consistently
Posts and photos from your actual jobs. Real work, real results, real people in your shirts. Not stock images that every other business in your category is also using. Timed to your seasonal cycle, because every service business has one, even the ones that swear they do not.
04
Questions and reviews handled like customer service
Every question that lands in your Q&A gets answered. Every review, good or bad, gets a response within 48 hours. We seed the questions customers ask you on the phone all day so the answer is already sitting there when the next person looks.
05
Tracked, reported, adjusted
Calls, direction requests, website clicks, and which search terms actually surfaced you. If a category change or a service area adjustment moves the numbers, we keep it. If it does not, we change it. This is a channel you manage, not a form you fill out once.
GBP QUESTIONS
Profile questions, answered .
Stuff buyers ask before they book.
- How long until I see movement in the map pack?
- Usually 2 to 4 weeks for the first visible movement, longer in a competitive metro. Category and service area fixes tend to move fastest because they correct something Google was getting wrong about your business. Review velocity and photo recency compound more slowly.
- Does posting on Google Business Profile actually do anything?
- Posts by themselves are not a huge ranking factor. Consistent activity on the profile is. A profile that gets fresh photos, answered questions, and responded-to reviews signals an active business, and Google favors active businesses in local results. The posts are part of the signal, not the whole thing.
- What if I have a bad review sitting on my profile?
- You respond to it, professionally, publicly, and without arguing. A well-handled bad review costs you almost nothing and sometimes helps, because it proves the reviews are real. An ignored bad review sitting at the top of your profile for a year costs you jobs every week.
- Can I rank in cities where I do not have an address?
- Yes, that is what a service area business is. You will rank strongest closest to your actual location and it gets harder the further out you go. That is proximity, and nobody can turn it off. What you can control is relevance and prominence, which is most of what this service is.
- Do you need access to my Google account?
- I need manager access to the Business Profile itself, not ownership of your Google account. You stay the owner. You can remove my access at any time. I will not ask you for your password and you should not give it to anyone who does.
